Cooper bid accepted?12 March 2002According to press reports, Albion have had a £1 million bid for Wimbledon midfielder Kevin Cooper accepted. However, a statement on the official site plays this down, with Chief Executive John Wile stating "We believe we've made some progress, but contrary to the reports in the papers today, there is still a lot to talk about with Wimbledon and then, if we can reach an agreement with them, with the player and his representatives." Cooper has scored 9 goals so far this season, which would suggest they would be reluctant to lose him - but they are now desperate to trim their wages bill and bring in some cash as their Premiership parachute money runs out.
