McInnes signs for Albion - possibly...

31 July 2000

Sky Sports are reporting that midfielder Derek McInnes has completed his move to Albion, although it goes on to say that in the past he signed permanently for Stockport for £300,000 (which he didn't - he only played on loan for them) and that he signed for Toulouse in February 1999 (he actually signed in December 1999). However, McInnes was due to give Albion his decision today after spending the weekend discussing the move with his wife - the choice being whether to stay on a massive wage to sit on the sidelines or to take a pay cut and get regular First Division action.
