Roberts snubs Portsmouth raid

26 July 2000

Media reports from several sources (here and down in Hampshire) are now saying that Jason Roberts has chosen to reject Portsmouth's attempts to steal him from under our noses and will sign the 4 year contract he agreed with Albion on Monday. The only potential hitch would now be the normal medical, although nobody seems to expect any difficulty with that.

Portsmouth boss Tony Pulis is said to be very unhappy with Robert's decision - despite saying a few days ago that he wasn't interested in signing him. Roberts is expected to make his debut in the friendly at Notts County on Friday, although he may well be introduced to the Albion fans at tonight's friendly game at home to India.
