Tommy's off the hook !

21 April 2004

Albion's Chief Viking, Thomas Gaardsoe, has been cleared by the FA to play in the away game at Reading following the upholding of his appeal against the red card he received at Millwall. The full statement on the FA web site reads as follows:

"West Bromwich Albion's Thomas Gaardsoe has had his appeal for Wrongful Dismissal upheld. He was sent off for denial of an obvious goalscoring opportunity in the Millwall v West Bromwich Albion tie on the 12th of April 2004. The red card has been rescinded and the appeal fee returned."

Albion will therefore only be missing Jason Koumas at Reading, thanks to the second yellow card he picked up in the same game. But by then we ought to be have been promoted anyway...
