ManU reserves 1 WBA reserves 021 August 2002Nick Hatton:Back to Old Trafford for the second time in five days for the pleasure of seeing the stiffs repeat the first team's result from Saturday. Good showing by Jordao, Jensen, Lyttle and Turner. The rest were not much to write home about although they matched the Man U boys pretty well. Megson said on Sky on Sunday morning that there were no young players pushing the first team and I can see he is right. The front two (Carey-Bertram and Patterson) were useless and couldn't hold the ball all night. By contrast several of a very young Man Utd side looked very useful, especially Darren Fletcher (remember the name, you heard it here first) who looks like one to watch. Probably should have got a 1-1 draw but we missed a gilt edged chance from 5 yards when the score was at 0-0. Still, it wasn't a bad performance. Interestingly, Brendon Batson was at the game and left at the same time as I did. He signed my teamsheet (which was nice) but was totally ignored by the Manchester gobshites who were clearly too ignorant to know a football legend when they see one.
