Handbags at ten paces

14 April 2000

Elsewhere, a war of words has broken out between Megson and regular Sky Sports pundit Alan Brazil. I've read many mails from people who watched the Sky coverage of the Ipswich game and who were disgusted at the bias shown by Brazil towards his beloved Ipswich side. After watching a video of the game, Megson said (among other things) "The commentary didn't seem balanced to me." Brazil hit back at Megson, saying "He should reserve all his energies into keeping Albion up, rather than having a pop at me. It was one of the worst Albion sides I have seen." Brazil, of course, obviously failed to spot that Albion drew 1-1 with his favourites, having taken the lead, and could have won the game had a rebound from the post near the end not been lucky enough to drop straight into Richard Wrights hands. This comes as no suprise to fans of Queens Park Rangers, who have received similar bias from Brazil in the past. They've even set up a website at http://www.alanbrazil.8m.com where people can exchange stories and opinions about the so-called "expert" commentator. Take a look!
