Megson's the Man for Albion

09 March 2000

4pm: Albion have confirmed Gary Megson as the new manager. Tom Ross, Head of Sport for local station Capital Gold Birmingham, had the following to say about him:

"I met Gary for the first time today. He will be on my phone in next Friday 17th March taking calls from Baggies fans."

"I think the players are in for a culture shock. He's a workaholic... expects and demands the same from players. He's a football barmy man. I have to say I was mightily impressed."

"You can hear him, John Wile and Paul Thompson here on Friday night and on Saturday after 2pm"

Albion also announced that Allan Evans has left the Club. Read more about our new appointment in the Gary Megson Profile

AM: Albion have announced a Press Conference at 4pm this afternoon where it is expected that they will reveal the new manager. The names of Gary Megson, Colin Todd, John Trewick and John Gorman seem to be the ones getting all the Press, but there seems to be no real clue who they have talked to and interviewed yet. We await the announcement!
