Little shown the door after emotional weekend

06 March 2000

Brian Little has been sacked as manager of West Bromwich Albion. The Board of Directors took the decision today after Saturday's 3-0 defeat by Birmingham City pushed the Club into the relegation zone for the first time in three years. After the game, Little had some harsh words to say - about the Club, who he accused of meddling in team affairs behind his back, and about the fans, who he claims abused him for 80 minutes following Birmingham's opening two goals - abuse he described as the worst he had received during 31 years in the game.
