Miller heads off to Rovers

16 February 2000

More transfer activity at the Hawthorns! Alan Miller has completed his move to Blackburn Rovers for an initial fee of £50,000 but rising to £75,000 on appearances. Miller left Albion with something of a blast at the Club, saying that he expected to have some discussion and negotiation following his initial request for a new contract, but heard nothing from them at all in response. Miller has signed a three and a half year contract with Blackburn.

Little time was wasted in signing a replacement, however, with Brian Jensen joining the Club on a free transfer from Dutch side AZ Alkmaar - although he won't be able to play until next season because he has to see out the remainder of his contract in Holland. Jensen impressed the Club when he came over for a trial earlier in the season, and they have responded by signing a pre-contract deal to bring him here in the summer.

This does leave us a little lightweight in the goalkeeping department, and Little is said to be looking for loan cover for Chris Adamson to last us until the end of the season - although with only two goals conceded in five games, Little has said that Adamson's place in the first team is secure.

Finally, Sean Flynn has had initial talks with the Club regarding his future. But all he would say about the outcome was the somewhat curious "I've been advised to say nothing at this stage". Hmmm...
