Campbell set to sign

09 January 2005

With Albion still apparently waiting for Almeyda to arrive, it looks like another signing is imminent. According to the official Everton site, striker Kevin Campbell is about to sign for us after holding talks this weekend. It adds:

"Campbell, who turns 35 next month, has found it difficult to hold down a regular first team place at Everton for the past 18 months and his appearance against Portsmouth last week will now be his last for the Blues."

"The move to the Midlands brings to an end a four-and-half year spell on Merseyside in which Campbell has made 163 appearances and scored 51 goals."

Update:

Local news has reported that Campbell has agreed terms and signed an 18 month deal! Sky reports this as our second signing, although the first - Almeyda - still doesn't seem to have actually completed his move yet.
