The Vikings are coming !

24 March 2004

Thanks to everyone that voted on their choice of theme for the end of season party at Reading, both here and on the various other message boards and web sites. The voting closed yesterday, the bribes views have been taken, the entries have been counted, and the results have just been announced on the Official WBA Web Site

Baggie fans voted overwhelmingly in favour of the "Vikings" theme as a tribute to our marauding Danish centre half, Thomas Gaardoe. We're sure it's no coincidence that Thomas is currently leading the overall ratings awarded by BOING readers for performances throughout the season on the Match Reports page.

So it's time to polish your helmets (ooer), get out your best hunting spears (soft tipped, of course - nothing dangerous is likely to make it into the Madejski Stadium), shields, longbows, fake furs and, erm, plenty of blonde wigs and beards, probably. More details on plans for the day as we get them.

Thanks to those that have asked about the possibility that Reading might not be the last away game, because one suggested date for the rearranged Stoke game is in the middle of the week after Reading. The end of season party will be held at Reading regardless, as it makes it a full day out for travelling fans and those who might not be able to make a midweek away game (especially kids).
