Another one for Denmark

05 February 2003

Thanks to Danish Baggie Henrik Lund for sending us the following article from Danish football site www.bold.dk - Herfolge is the Danish First Division club now chaired by former Albion director and acting chairman Clive Stapleton, who also took Richard Sneekes on a short term deal earlier last year:

Another Englishman signs for Herfolge in Denmark

Herfolge has signed a 2? year contract with Mark Briggs from West Bromwich.

Briggs was in January training with the 1st div. club and this went so well that he was offered a contract. He is the second player from England signing with the club after Matt Turner joined in December and it is no coincidence that the club signed an Englishman.

"We intentionally signed two English players so they could support each other, says Director Frank Hansen to www.bold.dk.

Both Turner and Briggs are former West Bromwich players and have signed 2? years contracts with Herfolge. Briggs is central midfield and will have to fight for a starting place with players like Thomas H?yer, Karsten Myssing, Anders Flaskager, Morgen Avnskjold and Simon Karkov in the strong 1st division team.

Herfolge are in 1st place in 1st division with a four points lead to second place club "Frem" and favourites for promotion to Denmark's "Super League".
