Sunderland name duo

The sighs of relief from Albion fans as Sunderland named their new management team of Howard Wilkinson and Steve Cotterill were drowned out only by the groans from Wearside. Megson's odds on being given the job had shortened yesterday when it was rumoured that they didn't want David O'Leary, and that George Graham didn't want them, but today's news has set Albion hearts to rest.

Sunderland fans, however, are said to be empying the contents of their medicine cabinets down their throats as they try to cheer themselves up with songs by The Smiths and Leonard Cohen...
