Man U ticket queue latest09 August 2002Just got back from taking some fish & chips to a mate who is queuing overnight for Old Trafford tickets. The queue stretches the whole length of the Brummie and round to the Halfords. However, it is fairly sparse in places as people try to find shelter under the roof at the back of the Brummie. There are people with tents, or sheltering under sheets of tarpaulin. It is absolutely pi**ing it down with rain. I am not very good at estimating, but at a conservative guess there must be around 250-300 (possibly more) in the queue already, and another twelve and a half hours to the ticket office opening. Assuming you can get 2 tickets each (and that is a guess - I do not know) they must be close to all sold out by now. I thought one of the briefs for the design of the East Stand was that it could be used for overnight queuing. I queued from around 2.30 for Bradford tickets at the end of last season, and that was OK because the weather was good. Tonight is really sh*t - there are huge puddles on both side of the Brummie Road - there must be better ways than this! There are many kids queuing who look around 10 years old!!!! Who was it on the list a few weeks ago that said the only thing Premiership about this club was the fans - very true. - Craig Towns Previous Stories:08 August 2002: Fancy a sandwich? 06 August 2002: Baggies fail to land Carew 05 August 2002: Gregan signed?
