How many live in Cheltenham?

11 February 2002

According to their official website, Cheltenham Town have sold all of their 5,000 tickets for Saturday's FA Cup tie at the Hawthorns and are currently investigating the possibility of obtaining an additional 350. The website notes that 25 coaches have now been filled and no more will be provided.

Given that Cheltenham have the whole of the Smethwick End, a few more shouldn't cause us any bother, and the game should set the record for attendance in our new-look ground (and for gate receipts too). It's an impressive turnout for a club that normally struggles to get 4,000 through the gates for its home games - then again, the Albion fans have made the home areas a sellout for that game too, and where were they all yesterday...?

Note: Cheltenham have subsequently been given the final batch of 400 extra tickets for the game, which is now completely sold out apart from a few executive packages. Contact the Club directly if you're interested. ]
