Megson pipped at the post

01 February 2002

Despite knocking two Premiership sides out of the FA Cup, winning all but one League game, and conceding just one solitary goal, Albion manager Gary Megson has failed to pick up the Manager of the Month award for January. It went to Kevin Keegan, whose Manchester City side had a faultless record in the League, and recorded an impressive 4-1 win at Ipswich as well. Wouldn't you know it - the one result that held us back was our 0-0 draw at Grimsby.

Apparently, it was the hardest decision that the award panel has had to make yet. Not that we're too fussed - it's always been a curse anyway...
