Graydon sacked by Walsall

22 January 2002

Clearly, losing to Albion for the first time ever was too much for Walsall's Chairman, Jeff Bonser, to take. The official Walsall site carries the following announcement:

"It is with deep sadness and regret that the Board have taken the decision to relieve Ray Graydon from his duties as Team Manager"

Sources close to Graydon say that he is devastated by the events - and given the achievements he has made with virtually no money to spend, this comes as rather sad news. Graydon is well respected in the game, and a top bloke to boot. We at BOING wish him all the best in finding a new job - something that should not be too difficult. How the Walsall fans will react to the news remains to be seen - Bonser is not the most popular of Chairmen at the best of times and looks to have done himself no favours with today's action.
