Big Dave receives racist abuse19 November 2001Yesterdays Daily Star ran a story about the racist abuse that Albion defender Darren Moore received from the Rotherham fans during the defeat at Millmoor on Saturday. It goes on to say that he will be reporting their club to the Football League and the FA, and quotes Big Dave himself as saying: "It was a disgrace, if it was one or two people I would let it go, but it was all around the ground. I told the ref and linesman. I just had to get off the pitch at the end. I have never felt so bad during or after a game in my life." As the article put it, Moore accused Rotherham fans of being stuck in a time warp - and I have to agree. My experiences up there on Saturday suggest that Rotherham still thinks it's living in the Seventies. Although to be fair, I never felt intimidated at any time there - just opressed by the generally dismal surroundings...
