Hughes: All bids rejected

07 August 2001

Today's Birmingham Post reports that Albion have rejected all the bids they've received for Lee Hughes. The article quotes Paul Thompson:

"There has been interest from a number of clubs, but only 3 bids, and none of those are satisfactory. Unless an offer comes which is acceptable to us, nothing will change. I expect Lee Hughes to be available for selection by Gary Megson for the Walsall game. We still desperately want Lee to stay. Hopefully the only transfer activity involving us in the next few days will be in the incoming direction. We want to bring in a centre-back and a left-sided midfielder."
