Megson to give up the Fox-hunt?15 August 2000It seems that Gary Megson has got fed up with Ruel Fox's dithering over a possible move from Spurs to West Brom. The two clubs had agreed a deal, but Fox wanted to sort out a compensation package from Spurs to make up for some of the loss of salary he would expect. Expecting him to leave, Spurs hadn't even allocated Fox a squad number - but after weeks of waiting for Fox to come to an agreement with them, it seems we're still waiting. Megson is now looking elsewhere, with the name of Terry Cooke being regularly mentioned. Cooke is currently with Manchester City, but has been frozen out of the first team by Joe Royle as a result of some disciplinary matter. However, the winger - for whom we're supposed to have bid £500,000 - plays down the left rather than the right as Fox does. Who cares, though? Both sides need strengthening...
