Wondering what some of our departed players were up to while we were losing at Forest on Saturday? Well, John Dunn dug around for the details and came up with the following:
- Sean Flynn is already in trouble after being sent off for two bookable offences during Tranmere's game at Wimbledon. On his way off the pitch he tried to kick an advertising hoarding in anger - although reports don't indicate whether he managed to hit it or not...
- Paul Raven got the runaround in defence as Grimsby got beaten at home by Preston NE - "embarrassingly outpaced and outmuscled" as the Telegraph put it
- Alan Miller, on loan at Bristol City, got away with dropping a cross when the resulting goal was disallowed for a foul on him
- Daniel Gabbidon was an un-used sub for Cardiff at Exeter
- Graham Potter (who faced David Beckham in pre-season) played left back for York as they lost 4-1 at Chesterfield
- Georges Santos formed an effective defensive partnership with Shaun Murphy as big-spending Sheffield United beat not-so-big-spending Portsmouth
- Andy McDermott, now with Notts County, was hit on the side of the head with a pie by a Luton supporter as he tried to retrive the ball from the crowd for a throw in. McD revealed "It was a good throw - it got me on the side. I looked at the ref to see what he was going to do but another fan threw the ball at me so I just got on with it"
Who said the grass is always greener elsewhere....?
