Newcastle game live on BBC!

As widely anticipated, given that the Premiership won't have started yet, the first game of the season - at home against Newcastle United on 8th August - will be broadcast live on TV and has been moved to a 17:30 kickoff.

What wasn't anticipated was the fact that it won't be on Sky Sports - it will make history as the first of ten Championship games being broadcast this season by the BBC, and will be shown on BBC1. The match will also be streamed live from the BBC web site for UK viewers only.
