Miller out for the season

09 December 2008

Albion's goal drought took a turn for the worse today with the news that Ishmael Miller will be out for the rest of the season with cruciate ligament damage. The Club had initially hoped for a less serious diagnosis, with the possibility of him returning to action in around six weeks, but the news comes as a crushing blow to a player who was just starting to look the part as a Premiership striker.

So far, no moves have been made to recall Craig Beattie from his loan at Crystal Palace, where Neil Warnock would like to sign him permanently when the transfer window opens in January, but it remains a possible option. Without Miller, our strike force is reduced to just Roman Bednar and Luke Moore, with Sherjil MacDonald as backup.
