More Albion coverage on Local Radio

Albion fans will be able to find commentaries on every game next season courtesy of Beacon Radio. The Black Country station has will be expanding their football coverage to include full live match commentary of every Albion match in addition to their Wolves match commentaries and updates from Walsall games. The coverage will consist of a commentator and pundit at every game and a phone in for supporters to sing their praises or vent their frustration after the matches.

Tony ?Bomber? Brown has been lined up to do the West Brom commentary on Beacon Radio alongside Nathan Alleyne, with Bob Taylor and Geoff Owen covering some matches. The football legend will also take part in the phone-in after the matches. Brown, who had been working for years covering matches alongside Tom Ross for Birmingham station Capital Gold, added:

"This is a great move for Baggies supporters ? fans from all over the Black Country will now be able to follow the team?s progress. I?m looking forward to next season; it?s going to be an interesting time. After last season?s disappointment, expectations are going to be high. The fans are going to be treated to some exciting matches and it will be great that Beacon is in on all the action."

Live match commentaries of West Brom matches will be broadcast live on 97.2 Beacon Radio, except for when West Brom and Wolves are playing at the same time and day, then the home side will be broadcast on Beacon?s sister station GOLD (990/1017 AM and DAB digital).

John Homer, Chairman of the West Brom Supporters Club said:

"It?s great to have a radio station on board that reaches the whole of the Black Country ? this is West Brom?s territory and has a massive Albion following. The new commentary will help enhance everyone?s enjoyment of the game and will give a greater insight into the club. It?s tremendous news for those fans that can?t come to the matches- in the past we?ve just had to rely on the Birmingham stations to cover the matches so it?s nice to have a station closer to home running the commentary."

The first new Black Country football show will be broadcast on 11th August with the Kickabout show at 12pm, with all the match build up from 2pm. Full live match commentary of West Brom?s first game away at Burnley will kick off at 3pm with host Stu Haycock.

Beacon Radio is also introducing a new Friday night football show called ?90 minutes with the Legends?, a talk show with ?Bomber? Brown and Robbie Dennison as well as with legends from Birmingham City and Aston Villa football clubs. All the ex-pros will be providing in-depth analysis of their clubs results and player?s performance as well as football in the region and the wider issues involving football.
