Benfica Ticket Details

18 July 2005

Thanks to another one of the worldwide family of BOING readers for digging out helpful information for the benfit of everyone else. This time it's Tom, who tells us:

"BENFICA V WBA FRIDAY 22 JULY
ALBUFEIRA MUNICIPAL STADIUM KO 21.15

I don't know if people need to know this but tickets for the game are on sale at the Albufeira Town Hall this week. There is no local publicity! Tickets are priced at ?20 behind the goals, ?25 in the temporary stand on the sidelines and ?30 upwards in the posh bits. It took me a while to find this out, so perhaps there are Baggies fans on holiday in these parts who might need to know.

There are supposed to be tickets available at the ground on the day but with capacity limited to 12,000 I wouldn't take a chance."

Neil added a further warning about the potential scrap for tickets:

"I'm flying out later this morning and have done a little research on the capacity of this ground - I think it's only 5,000. It's the home ground of a second division club, Deportivo Imortal D'Albufeira, and on a site that lists world stadiums, it's shown as holding 5,000. I'm going to get my tickets as soon as I arrive!"

Thanks, guys. If anyone hears anything similarly useful about the Sevilla game, we'll gladly pass it on.
