2004/5 Fixtures Announced

24 June 2004

The Baggies once again begin the season with an away fixture, but it could hardly be a better option, away to Blackburn Rovers on Saturday August 14th where we'll have our biggest ticket allocation of the season.

There's a great opportunity to get off to a flyer at home, on Saturday August 21st, where there will be a capacity crowd to see us trounce local rivals Aston Villa. However, there is a 50:50 chance that this game will be moved as Birmingham City are at home to Chelsea at the same time.

There are two early trips to Merseyside and then our longest away journey, to Newcastle United, on Saturday 25th September.

Chelsea visit The Hawthorns at the end of October and Manchester United arrive a month later. A mid-December trip to Birmingham City is followed by a Boxing Day home match against Liverpool and the visit of Newcastle on the New Year Bank Holiday.

There are no Easter fixtures, but early March sees the return local derby against Blues and early April the reverse fixture with Villa.

If we need points at the end of the season there shouldn't be much of a problem, as the two penultimate games are Arsenal at home and Manchester United away, before we complete the season with a home match against Portsmouth.

We'd love to publish the full list, but the Premier League would have us by the knackers - so you'll have to visit the official site or dig around the mailing lists and message boards for a copy instead. Sorry!
