Preston fail in penalty appeal

04 September 2003

Preston's appeal to the FA over the sending off of goalkeeper Jonathan Gould has been rejected. Although Preston claimed that their 'keeper had made little or no contact with Lee Hughes, who converted the spot kick about five minutes later to win the game, the FA disagreed.

"It is outrageous" said the unhappy Preston Chairman, Derek Shaw.
