Santos joins the Tractor Boys

04 August 2003

Ipswich have recently signed former Cape Verde international and all round bad egg Georges Santos from Grimsby. Santos, you may recall, has a personal vendetta against Andy Johnson, following an innocuous incident whilst AJ was at Nottingham Forest that left Santos with a facial injury. The vendetta took a spectacular, although utterly predictable, turn during our last visit to Bramhall Lane (where Santos was then plying his evil trade) when within seconds of coming on as a substitute Santos launched an ugly, vicious and premeditated two footed lunge at AJ leaving him sprawling in the centre of the field thankful to still be able to walk.

This was preceded by Santos 'warming up' the crowd which led to several unsavoury incidents and was followed by the debacle that was the 'Battle of Bramhall Lane'.

No doubt we will all be looking forward to renewing acquaintances with Mr Santos.
