Fixtures: Deja vu?

19 June 2003

Although next season's fixtures have only been announced today, two of them have a very familiar ring. We start the season on August 9th in the same way as we did in our promotion season (could that be an omen?) away at Walsall, and we finish it the same way we did in 1998, at home to Nottingham Forest on Sunday May 9th.

Other "interesting" ones include Millwall away on Easter Monday, at home to Derby County on Boxing Day and Wimbledon at their new Milton Keynes home on Sunday December 28th. Our first home game is against Burnley on August 16th and we host the home leg of our only local derby (sniff) on January 10th. Also interesting is that some weeks see two or three games scheduled be played on Wednesdays, either for TV or some other reason, and although none of ours seem to have suffered this fate we can probably expect some to be moved around for broadcast.

The fixtures will be in the local press today, and on the official web site - eventually. Apparently PTV are having problems meeting the demand from fans trying to find out the info...

Update: The official site now has the Full Fixture List available
