Men In Black(burn)

13 April 2003

Who's the *$@+$@#% in the black?
Some - err - "referees" yesterday

Following a joint initiative between BOING and Grorty Dick, we've come up with a theme for our last away game of the season - traditionally an occasion for dressing up in some way. With tickets going on sale for the Blackburn game this week, we thought it was time to give the idea a bit more publicity...

M.I.B. is the theme of the day - Men In Black - our Premiership party, our celebration of ourselves, our bit of fun at the expense of myopic and card-happy referees, so grab the appropriate gear from a friend or acquaintance who is of the whistling code, or put together an approximation yourselves, and live a little!.

And, just to really emphasise the point, why not grab some bright red and yellow fluorescent card from office stationers (Osbornes or Staples supply the stuff), and have a card-fest of your own? Those joke spectacles with pebble-lenses in them wouldn't be a bad idea either.

We may be going down faster than a Cruise missile over Baghdad, but we're still up for our traditional end-of-season fun-fest. We've wowed 'em with beachwear in the past, and we attracted national media attention with our 'dressing up day' at QPR a few seasons ago, so although this away fixture will be our swan-song in the higher sphere, let's give 'em something to really remember us by - in the nicest possible way, of course.

We are Albion, we really are, so let's celebrate the fact in customary fashion and sod Rodney Marsh, Danny Baker and the rest of their wall-eyed media cronies. This isn't a case of looking bitter and twisted, or a wake to mourn our passing from the legendary Greed League - just a bit of fun, so bear in mind that going too far and blowing lots of whistles is likely to land us in hotter water than we'd care for.

Laugh and enjoy!
