All around the world

05 February 2003

This weekend's crunch league game against Bolton Wanderers will be shown live all over the world, according to reports from BOING readers dotted around the globe. Canal+ in Norway and Sweden will be showing the game live on "Canal+ ZAP", presumably their equivalent of Sky Sports Extra or something (their main game is Spurs vs Sunderland). The game is being shown live at the Mad Dog in the Fog in San Francisco, a Baggies den of long standing (530 Haight St @ Fillmore), and in a bar somewhere in Atlanta too, and is being broadcast across the USA live as a pay-per-view game on Fox Sports World (7am Pacific), who are also showing a recorded version if you can bear to wait till Wednesday to see it (5pm Pacific and again at 10pm Pacific).

It's live in Thailand, and the now-official Thai branch of the Supporters Club will be getting together in Bangkok to watch it - all Baggies welcome, contact Adam Cotton for details at adamcot@cscoms.com or 01-993-0055. Canadian Baggies can see the game on Sportsnet - 10:00 Eastern Time, 07:00 in Vancouver, and it's also live on TV in Malta, and the Aussie Baggies have just told us that Foxtel are showing it live in the small hours of Sunday morning. You can also find it on South African satellite channel Supersport, which we understand can be picked up at various points around the Persian Gulf if you have the right stuff to do it, and it's also on one of the Arabic channels too. It may also be on a Spanish channel, too, but no definite details are known at the moment - it may even be possible to pick it up in the UK with the right equipment (or if you find a pub that has it).

The bad news, however, is that we don't perform particularly well in front of the cameras.

Bugger.
