Hopes for settlement?

27 May 2002

BBC Teletext reports that there do still appear to be attempts to hold out olive branches between the two parties in the Boardroom dispute:

WBA RIVALS CALL FOR TALKS

Acting WBA Chairman Clive Stapleton and his rival Jeremy Peace have both said more talks to resolve the boardroom dispute would be helpful.

Stapleton said "It's important we try and find some common ground"

Peace told BBC WM: "I think that's very sensible and I'd welcome that. I have no problem talking to Clive and I think it would be extremely useful".

Peace's bid to become Chairman will lead to an EGM in July unless a solution is reached.
