Last night's BBC TV show carried out a National survey of IQ levels among the British population. Nearly 100,000 people filled in the answers on the BBC web site, and gave a bit of personal information about themselves so they could do a bit of rudimentary analysis. With one of those bits of information being which football team you supported, they listed the top and bottom teams - and there were West Brom, top of the pile with an average IQ of 138.

Now, interestingly, they also listed the averages by region as well, and the West Midlands didn't fare too well, with an average of about 103. Given the Baggies position at the top of the pile, it seems that someone else must be dragging the area down...
