Civic reception to follow...

22 April 2002

Albion are to be honoured with a Civic reception, according to the Leader of Sandwell council who spoke on local radio this morning.

Plans have apparently been made already, but final confirmation with the club is still needed for times and dates.

Meanwhile, a few reports have reached us about trouble in West Bromwich Town last night. Local news described it simply as "drunken revellers", but some that were there suggest that Wolves fans arrived during the evening and started fighting, which were then dispersed by heavy-handed riot police. Certainly, none of the scenes just after the game suggested that there would be anything but happy celebrating from the Albion fans, and on past experiences the involvement of Wolves fans seems quite easy to believe.
