Season ticket details announced

21 April 2002

With the dust bareky settled at the Hawthorns following today's historic victory, Albion have announced the details of how to get season tickets for our first ever Premiership season. Full details are on the official website (www.wba.co.uk) and will appear in tomorrow's papers, but the basic facts are as follows:

  • All renewals are to be conducted by post. Letters will be sent out to season ticket holders on June 3rd
  • A strict schedule has been published for anyone wishing to move seats, based on first letter of surname and spread over five sets of three days in June and July
  • New season tickets will not be sold until 16th July at the earliest, giving existing holders plenty of time to renew by 15th July
  • New season tickets will be only be sold to people who have various numbers of shares in the club or stubs from home games for the last season. Only afterwards will the club announce if any further season tickets are available
  • No new season tickets will be available in the Smethwick End
  • No new "kids for a quid" season tickets will be available

While the regulations may appear somewhat strict, the only people likely to have trouble getting season tickets are those that have not had them before and have been to no more than a handful of games this season. The use of postal applications for renewals will avoid large queues at the ticket office and hopefully smooth the service provided.

The key piece of information missing, of course, is the ticket prices...which will be announced separately.
