WBA vs Wimbledon: Team News

21 September 2001

West Brom boss Gary Megson is waiting for news on Darren Moore and Warren Cummings before naming his side to face Wimbledon. Both players are undergoing treatment after sustaining injuries while playing for the reserves against Oldham. Cummings, who is on loan with the Baggies from Chelsea, hobbled off after just five minutes of the game with a twisted knee while Moore completed the game but was complaining of a sore ankle after the game. Megson will wait until the last minute to assess their fitness before deciding on his starting line-up.

Wimbledon goalkeeper Paul Heald is available for the game after his one-match ban for his dismissal against Watford was overturned by the FA. Loan signing Wayne Brown will continue in defence after scoring his first goal for the club in the 4-0 win against Crewe in midweek. Injuries to Kenny Cunningham, Dean Blackwell and Rob Gier leave manager Terry Burton short of options at the back. Skipper Neal Ardley is also doubtful and summer signing Neil Shipperley could find it hard to force his way back into the side. The former Barnsley man was rested at Gresty Road and Burton said: "I rested Neil to freshen things up a bit and it worked."
