More sweets for the lads

26 August 2001

Following the success of BOING bob-bon sales over the last couple of years, the product range is expanding as of Monday's home game against Gillingham. In celebration of the return of the yellow and green away kit, the traditional mixed colour bags of mint sweets have been joined by a new one containing a mixture of yellow sherbert lemons and green sherbert limes. The limes are said to have a distinctively limey flavour, while the lemons will "blow you away"! The new sweets are also sold at £1 a bag, with all profits going to the Youth team.

And on that subject, quite a few people have asked about the state of the appeal supported by, amongst others, BOING, Grorty Dick and the Albion Ultras. Following the departure of John Trewick and Richard O'Kelly, Youth Team matters are now under the charge of Alan Crawford, and he's just as keen for our support. The money will go towards sending the youngsters away on tours and competitions, which is just what the fund has been helping to do over the last few years - so it's business as usual.

No excuses now that the Bon Bons stain your tongues blue - do a bit of sherbert instead!
