Wolves preview16 March 2001The game will go ahead after all, now that MAFF officials have corrected a slight misunderstanding. Apparently they had closed the ground down earlier today after spotting a bull and ten donkeys wandering around the pitch... [ Ho-ho! Every one a winner... ] Anyway, Albion head for the big derby game with only Captain Ruel Fox as an injury worry - Matt Carbon, James Chambers and Tony Butler have all recovered from knocks and will be fit for the game. Fox has a sore hamstring, and Megson said at todays Press conference that he would not play if he was unlikely to last the whole game - he has not trained this week. As for the game, Megson was asked if a point would be a good result - and said that it's impossible to say before the game because it would depend how the game went; in any case, we were not very good at playing for draws so it would be all-out for a win... Wolves, meanwhile, hope to have central defender Paul Butler fit following a groin injury, but Tony Dinning is out with a dislocated shoulder and Andy Sinton is also doubtful. Full-back Kevin Muscat will be playing his last game before serving a two-match ban. Wolves have failed to beat West Brom in the last six outings; both meetings last season ended in 1-1 draws but Albion took all three points at home thanks to a Lee Hughes penalty. Albion striker Jason Roberts makes his first return to Wolves after leaving for Bristol City several years ago. Roberts jumped at the chance to sign for them when offered, but after a year of sitting on the sidelines without first team action, he was forced to resurrect his career down in the South West and subsequently joined Albion for £2 million. Both teams are on similarly erratic form; Wolves have lost three and won two while Albion are marginally better with two wins, two defeats and a draw.
