Beast Seething28 February 2001Albion goalkeeper Brian "Beast" Jensen has hit out at news reports that claim he is looking for a new club after being dropped for the Portsmouth game in favour of Russell Hoult. "I never said anything of the sort," he stated after reading reports from his home country that he was considering leaving Albion in a "teddy throwing" style tantrum. "I am definitely not looking for a new club. I'm disappointed I've been dropped as any player would be but I'm not unhappy. It's just part of the game and I'm willing to fight for my place. I was on the bench for one and a half years at my last club AZ Alkmaar so I've had much much worse than this." Jensen's earlier reported comments, which had appeared on Teamtalk, were also out of step with manager Gary Megson's description of Jensen's reaction to losing his first team place. Megson is quoted in the Birmingham Post saying "Brian has reacted positively to being left out, which is what I expected of him. He can be pleased with his first year in English football and Russell Hoult knows he has to be on top of his game to stay in the side."
