Trewick Resigns!24 January 2001In a move that has come completely out of the blue for most fans, John Trewick has left West Bromwich Albion after nine years. He has spent his time at the Hawthorns in various coaching roles and has recently been achieving a great deal of success as Youth Development Manager - a job which he appeared to thoroughly enjoy, leading the team to victory at Wembley last year in the first ever Youth Alliance Cup Final. Albion Chairman, Paul Thompson, issued the simple statement "We would like to thank John for his contribution to West Brom over the past nine years and we wish him every success in the future." Trewick has always said that he'd like to manage the Club, although the temporary stints he has enjoyed through the many managerial upheavals over the last decade have met with mixed success. It would appear that he has finally given up hope on getting the manager's job here and wishes to try his luck elsewhere. Over the last two years, the BOING web site and mailing list have become extensively involved with John by raising thousands of pounds to support Youth projects and, as you can imagine, we're devastated by the news. John's ability and enthusiasm will be very, very difficult to replace. Previous Stories:19 January 2001: Richards leaves 19 January 2001: Sheffield Sell-out 19 January 2001: Big Flag!
