Suits @ Shepherds Bush - The Winners!

29 April 2000

All credit to everyone who made the effort to get dressed up for our last away game - the turnout was magnificent, with probably at least half the fans wearing their Sunday best. The photo below shows the winners of the "Best Dressed" competition - sponsored by Paul Dubberley, the Midlands-based estate agent. Best Dressed Man was Nick Hill, Best Dressed Lady was Carol Carter, and the Best Dressed Children award was shared by brother and sister Jamie and Olivia Rowe. The picture shows the winners receiving their cheques from Paul and Rachael Dubberley and Nick Hill:

BOING FC - the Albion's Internet team, also made the effort and donned their Sunday Best - and despite their 6-3 defeat by QPR's team (Accrington Stanley Bowles) they still managed to smile for the camera before heading off towards Loftus Road:

(L-R): Tim Davies, Matt Kinsella, Matt Wright, Cuzer, Dean Currie, Stuart Slater, Tony Watkiss
Simon Field, Finbarr, Darren Millward, Matt Stephens, Shane O'Callaghan, Paul Lingard

Gary Megson acknowledged the boost that the fans' efforts had made to him and the team. Quoted in today's Sunday Mercury, Gary had the following to say:

""The fans were brilliant. When we saw them all outside the pub 100 yards up the road all dressed in their Sunday best it did the team talk for me. I just had to say that it was that important to those people, so you can't let them down. You can't be accused of not showing the same passion as they have shown. They were fantastic""

Thanks again to all those who made the effort to make it a day to remember - even if it won't be for the football...
