Ancient Baggie:

Just the result we needed going into the international break. First half was almost a total non event mainly due to Millwall who's style of football was painful to watch but on occasion looked like it might lead to us conceding, it was like playing a Stoke or Wimbledon from years ago.

Second half was a different story and once Price curled in a beauty from the edge of the box there was only one winner and we played some attractive football culminating in great passing move the length of field for the third.

It ended up as a solid team performance and difficult to single out players although Price was pivotal in the majority of our good stuff and fingers crossed he comes back from the internationals in one piece.

Brendan Clegg:

A brilliant win to cap off a very impressive week - three very strong performances.

Campbell’s absence was expected but it was notable Mozza moved Phillips to left CB and kept Mepham on the right where he’s performed so well.

And Heggebø got the nod up top over the Horn or Stewart - a little surprising but Mozza has tried to keep everyone match sharp.

First half we were okay but it was bitty and niggly - we had lots of the ball but it was stop start due to fouls, Millwall slowing it down and a referee who gave every little foul and rarely let the game flow.

I think we also suffered a bit for the change in formation with Heggebø and Morgan not really getting into it or clicking.

In short, it was typical of the fixture, but we were on top and had defended set plays and long balls well.

After the break we had a bit more urgency, moving forward faster and in greater numbers.

Price’s wonderful goal was an example of this. Molumby picked up a loose ball on the turnover and sent Price galloping away. He had options to play in but as Millwall retreated and he got into range he used the defender’s body to obscure the goalies view and sent a brilliant bending pass-like finish around the defender and into the far corner. It was a real touch of class.

From there we were set really. Millwall had to come out and we were too good for them. We brought on Horn, Stewart and later Tunde and they all made a big contribution again - bringing hard running, creativity and strength.

Molumby grabbed a second after another fine break albeit the keeper spilled it to him.

The third really was a brilliant team goal. Again we moved it at high pace with real quality, Tunde and Price simply too good for Millwall and the latter squared for the Horn to wrap it up.

I don’t know what more to say than has already been said - this team is just so likeable. They give you everything, they have a go, they entertain and they battle.

Tactically this week we have been superb in the main, and both last season and this our manager and coaches have found solutions to tricky injuries in a thin squad.

What’s also exciting is the flourishing of different players at different stages - the youngsters are all getting better with every game and finding their feet; the older players who are newer to the division or country are really getting to grips with it; the senior players are finding the best form and consistency of their Albion and probably entire careers.

It is unfortunately inevitable that we will have to sell someone in the coming window or the next - that is our sustainable model - so I would just say to any Albion fan… get to live games while you can. Home or away. Go and enjoy this special bunch!
