Sacked in the morning IX

15 January 2016

It's been a while since the curse of Albion caused an opposition manager to lose his job - we reckon Chris Hughton was the last casualty when we beat Norwich 3-1 nearly two years ago.

But Bristol City have upped the ante this time and sacked Steve Cotterill after merely drawing away from home against a club almost a division and a half above them. Poor sod doesn't even get the chance to beat us in the replay.

In fairness, it's probably more down to the fact that they're in the relegation places in the Championship after picking up just four points from eleven games since beating Wolves at the start of November. Or perhaps they wanted to spare him the embarrassment of a stuffing at the hands of runaway leaders Middlesbrough on Saturday.
