Summary:

With the exception of Rickie Lambert, Albion's starting lineup for the trip to Vicarage Road had a very "last season" look about it, the rest of the new signings being benched after the 3-0 defeat by Manchester City.

There was little of note to report, Watford dominating most of the play and Albion failing to record a single shot on target despite the introduction of Salomon Rondon during the second half, giving them three strikers on the pitch for a while. Again, Saido Berahino failed to put away a relatively easy chance but headed wide, Lambert and Rondon also failing to get shots on target.

But it's a point... and a clean sheet... and they're off the bottom of the table.
