Summary:

Just 7,500 QPR supporters turned up at Loftus Road to watch their team earn a largely undeserved replay against Albion. Steve Clarke made good on his promise of taking the Cup seriously, switching to a 4-4-2 formation with both Romelu Lukaku and Shane Long up front, although both Youssouf Mulumbu and Peter Odemwingie were left out altogether.

Things didn't go to plan in the first half, however, with Zoltan Gera substituted after just 21 minutes due to injury and his replacement, Marc-Antoine Fortune, substituted just before half time for the same reason by the returned Jerome Thomas.

Shane Long put Albion ahead with just over ten minutes left when his shot was deflected by Steven Mbia past Julio Cesar, but Kieron Dyer levelled in injury time.

The match will be replayed at the Hawthorns on Wednesday 16th January at 8pm; incentive for the winner is what should be a winnable home tie in the next round against either Sheffield Wednesday or MK Dons.
