Dear Shareholder

With the Extraordinary General Meeting on July 8th drawing ever nearer, I thought it appropriate for me to write to you at this point in time to apologise to you for the inconvenience that has been inflicted on you by this most unnecessary meeting. It was petitioned, as you know, by Paul Thompson (aided and abetted by two former colleagues) who did so for reasons that only he knows best, but purported to be for other reasons that he never established.

The regular stream of ill-prepared and badly construed letters which arrived with monotonous frequency through your letter box, containing half facts and misleading statements, would have failed to impress intelligent shareholders of West Bromwich Albion. Not once, despite abject criticism, did Mr Thompson offer a viable alternative or submit a plan of any consequence to the position that I offered.

Quite simply this was because HE DID NOT HAVE ONE that would stand scrutiny and more importantly COULD NOT PRODUCE ONE. In addition, you should be aware that the action taken by Mr Thompson, on what will prove to be an abortive exercise, will involve the Club in the unnecessary costs in excess of £25,000, something that it could ill afford.

Alternatively, as you are aware, I have advised you frequently of the manner in which I plan to take the Club forward, indicating at the same time the method of funding necessary to achieve reality. My priorities are well established with the training ground being paramount, followed closely by team strengthening and improvement of facilities that will be compatible with a Premiership Club.

In addition, I have taken action to strengthen the Boardroom Team with the addition of Mr James Driscoll, MBE and Mr Richard Thompson, both of whom are men of substance, well known within footballing circles and who will be of great benefit to the Club.

In conclusion, I hope that you feel able to offer me your most valued support to rebuff the challenge and so ensure that the beloved Albion remains with Albion people.

Therefore, please VOTE AGAINST the resolution

Yours sincerely

A B Hale
